Project Description

This course provides you with the skills necessary work to the highest commercial standards across all music genres and will coach you with insightful career advice on how to work as a music producer, professional studio engineer or mastering engineer.  Includes the official Avid Pro Tools 201 2 day course.  Graduates from this course currently work at Grand Cru Studios, Britannia Row, Wendyhouse and with artists such as Westlife, Stormzy, Louis Tomlinson, Olly Murs, Lil Simz, Avelino, Lily Allen,  Friendly Fires, !!! and Octavian.

  • Acoustics and psychoacoustics
  • Signal flow in advanced analogue consoles
  • Advanced microphone techniques
  • Analogue tape recording
  • Advanced compression techniques and multiband compression
  • Active and passive EQ’s
  • Preparing masters and mastering techniques
  • Official Avid 201 syllabus

MAX COURSE SIZE:  10 people  BASED IN:  Neve VR Studio, Mac Suites

DATES & TIMES:  2 eves / week for 6 months: Tuesday & Thursday 6pm-9pm.  Next start Tuesday 8th October 2019.

PRICE:  £2100 single payment or 6 x instalments of 350.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: Fundamentals of Studio Music Production Diploma or equivalent knowledge

QUALIFICATION GAINED: SSR Industry Diploma & Official Avid 201 Qualification

Peter Green, Akala, Newton Faulkner, Miss Dynamite, Nathan NFG, Skunk Anansie, Wretch 32, Secret Sphere, MC Rage, Bashy, Camarón y Tomatito, Molotov Jukebox and Kero Kero Bonito.

ROBIN BARTER
ROBIN BARTERCourse Tutor

His early career involved working with DJ’s such as Norman Jay, Judge Jules and the Platinum selling Sonique with the album “Hear My Cry”, Robin then moved into the Music Education world, whilst continuing to write and produce with artists – Fey, Belinda (Mexico), Mel C, Joel Edwards, Kirstenana. He also worked in the sound to picture industry, working with brands such as Mitsubishi, Sony and John Freida.

Robin currently splits his time between teaching and production and his recent work includes Mixing (Paolo Lewis), Remixing (Jimmy Dudding) and multiple production projects for the Chinese market.
