Project Description

When putting together this new Industry Diploma, we thought long and hard about how we can provide valuable, technical training in computer-based music production and sound design that has the same exceptional levels of rigour and practical usefulness as our studio-based Diplomas. Drawing on the considerable experience of a number if our industry-active tutors, we decided to take a fundamentally creative and musical approach. Rather than just learning software features by rote, we will teach you how to expressively manipulate rhythm, melody, sound and texture elements using Logic Pro, Ableton Live & Push, Native Instruments Komplete and Maschine. We will look at hands-on production and performance techniques to give your music, whatever the genre, a human feel and your own personal signature sound.  In addition, regular guest lecturers will give you insight into their personal workflows.

Alongside these creative programming and synthesis skills, you will explore mixing and mastering ‘in-the-box’ to give your productions and compositions a professional, release-ready finish. Whether you work with grimy club music, polished R&B, epic film scores or anything else that uses electronic elements in its’ creation, this course is suitable for both beginners and practitioners looking to expand their skillset and deepen their knowledge.
