Welcome to the world of the sound designer, dubbing mixer,  supervising sound editor and the foley artist. You‘ll love the challenge of mixing atmospheres, dialogue and special effects, all to broadcast standards. Developed in conjunction with leading post production companies and professionals, our Post Production Sound for Film, Games & TV course, will give you the skills to create, mix and edit sound for all forms of visual media.  Includes the official Avid 2 day Pro Tools 201 course.

DATES & TIMES:  2 eves / week for 6 months: Tuesday & Thursday 7pm-10pm. Next start Tuesday October 8th

PRICE: £2100 single payment or 6 x instalments of 350.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: Official Avid Pro Tools 110 Qualification

QUALIFICATION GAINED: SSR Industry Diploma & Official Avid 201 Qualification

SCOTT MARSHALLHead of Post Production

A Supervising Sound Editor (Film), Re-Recording Mixer & Sound Designer with over 15 years working in the Film, Tv, Commercial, Drama, Documentary and Factual Entertainment genres.

He’s An Immersive Audio Creative, Producer and Consultant specialising in producing, audio design, mixing and mastering for Virtual Reality, 360 film, Augmented Mixed Reality, AV Installations.


having joined Sony immediately after completing a masters degree in Audio Production from the University of Westminster.

Based in London, Simon has designed and developed audio for a wide range of games and experiences, across several platforms. Most recently, Simon has been working on audio for PlayStation VR experiences, developing the audio for launch title PlayStation VR Worlds, Joshua Bell VR, and Blood & Truth.

She mixes regularly at the major studios in London and also gets called upon to take on projects abroad.  Recent projects include Fernando Meirelles’ ‘The Pope’ & the series ‘Spotless’ for Netflix, ‘Wasteland’ for HBO Europe and ‘Da Vinci’s Demons’ for Fox.

She has also worked on several award-winning productions including Patagonia (Welsh BAFTA Winner – Best Sound), Baroque (RTS award – Best Arts Programme), The Mighty Boosh – Future Sailors tour DVD (NME Award Winner – Best DVD) & Little Terrorist (Oscar Nomination – Best Live Action Short).

Kath holds a BMus (Tonmeister) degree with 1st class honours from the University of Surrey.


2014 and was nominated for the prestigious Verna Fields Golden Reel awarded by Motion Picture Sound Editors association in Los Angeles.  Her recent feature I Am Not A Witch by Rungano Nyoni, premiered in the Official Selection at Cannes Film Festival and the director was awarded BEST DIRECTOR AT BIFA – BRITISH INDEPENDENT FILM AWARDS 2017.

Another feature documentary, Almost Heaven by Carol Salter, had its world premiere in the Official Selection at Berlinale 2017 – Generation 14plus and won Best Documentary at BIFA – BRITISH INDEPENDENT FILM AWARDS 2017.

In 2015, Pikadero, a feature she has worked on, premiered in New Directors competition at San Sebastián International Film Festival. Also the same year, Dancing in Circles, a short she has worked on the year before, won BAFTA Cymru 2015.

Previously, Ania’s films have won the Palme d’Or in Cannes 2014, Golden Leopard at Locarno Film Festival and San Sebastián International Film Festival 2012, Grand Prix at Tampere Film Festival, Royal Television Society Award in 2013, Golden Mikeldi at ZINEBI Bilbao, Grand Jury Prize at Lille Festival du Cinéma Européen, Best Film at Bogota Short Film Festival, Best UK Short at London Short Film Festival, Grand Prix in Shorts Asia in Tokyo and Huesca.

Ania graduated with an MA in Sound Design for Film and Television from the National Film and Television School in the UK.

She has worked as a sound designer, sound editor and dubbing mixer on numerous films both shorts and features. She has also worked on commercials for Dr. Martens and Vice.

TIM SUTTONCourse Tutor

As a Sound Engineer his career has spanned TV and Radio advertising, Broadcast work, Online media, Corporate and Documentaries.  For the last 7 years he was Head of Audio at a major London advertising agency.

He has been responsible for creating and delivering award winning sound design for some of the world’s best known brands and products. 

His work has won recognition in awards including D&AD, Creative Circle, Campaign Magazine Big Awards, Aerial Awards, Cannes Lions, Campaign Media, PromaxBDA Europe / UK / LA, Andy Awards, One Show, Webby Awards, LIA, Eurobest and a BAFTA nomination.

With an additional interest in studio design, Tim has been involved in the planning and specification of several studios including Dolby licensed cinema mixing rooms.

Now Freelance he continues to work as a Sound Engineer in several Post Studios across London as well as providing Audio Consultancy services in studio design, management and work-flow. In addition he composes music for adverts as well as being a professional Voice Over artist.


We offer intensive high-level technical training and, through our Graduate Support Programme, mentoring and support for all graduates. Alongside career guidance with a dedicated coordinator with extensive industry connections, there are opportunities to earn while you study at the SSR studios and through work placements.
