We sat down for a chat with one of our many successful graduates – Dora Filipovic. Since completing our Avid Pro Tools courses to 210P level, Dora has gone on to work on various documentaries, short films and feature films as a sound designer. Here’s what she had to say about her time at SSR –

“I was attending courses for Pro Tools 101, 110, 201 and 210P, I finished my courses in February 2018 becoming an Avid Certified Pro Tools Operator in Post Production (210P)

I am very happy that I was able to finish the Pro Tools courses at SSR London. The facility gives students the opportunity to practice their skills on the newest sound equipment and to learn from the sound experts. The combination of theory and practice were very valuable for me. I learned how to accomplish common audio production tasks, employ navigation and editing skills in a multi-track Pro Tools session, incorporate professional recording and mixing techniques for audio and MIDI files in the Pro Tools environment.

In May 2018, I received a scholarship from Genelec speakers to participate in summer film school Media Sound Hamburg in Germany. Later that year, I also received two awards: 2nd Prize “Climate Clip Award” for best short film at the Film Schoolfest Munich and the “Voya Kondic Memorial Prize 2018” for best use of study visit in UK for my PhD research. Furthermore, I worked on two documentary and two short films as sound designer – “I am what I am – The story of Gipsy Mafia”-director Andrijana Stojkovic, “Speleonaut-Under the stone sky”-director Sonja Djekic, “First Date” and “Scotland Therapy”-director Bojan Brbora. As sound editor I worked on a couple of feature films like “You have the Night”-director Ivan Salatic.

SSR’s Pro Tools courses deepened my knowledge and improved my skills in the unique, inspiring, creative and cosmopolitan environment. The experience at SSR was very exciting, fun and valuable for both my professional and overall general development.“
